Surya Flow: Elemental Sunrise Yoga - THURSDAY 6:00AM + SATURDAY 7:15AM

Begin your day with Surya Flow, a unique blend of Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, rooted in the ancient wisdom of classical Indian yoga and the reverence for sunrise as a sacred time for practice. In both Hatha and Vinyasa traditions, practicing yoga at dawn is believed to harness the powerful solar energy of Surya, the sun god, aligning our inner light with the rhythms of nature and creating balance for body, mind, and spirit.

The class begins with grounding breathwork (pranayama), awakening the body's energy channels and preparing you for a dynamic flow that harmonizes with the five elements, earth, water, fire, air, and ether. We weave Hatha's mindful postures with Vinyasa's fluid sequences, creating a practice that energizes the body while maintaining deep focus and presence. As the sun rises, this flow fuels the body’s prana, or life force, promoting strength, vitality, and clarity for the day ahead.

Each class concludes with a soothing Savasana, where you'll be invited to fully relax and absorb the benefits of the practice. During this time, there may be the added healing elements of crystal sound bowls or hands-on Reiki, enhancing the deep state of rest and restoring your energetic balance.

SAMADHI SUNSET: yin + SOUND HEALING FOR THE SOUL - TUESDAY 6:00 - 7:30PM

As the sun sets and the world begins to quiet, immerse yourself in Samadhi Sunset, a 75 minute Yin Yoga and Sound Healing session designed to guide you toward a state of inner bliss and connection. Inspired by the yogic concept of Samadhi, the ultimate state of meditation and union with the self, this class is a serene journey into deep release, relaxation, and soulful resonance.

The session begins with calming Pranayama breathwork to help you land gently in the space. From there, we flow into Yin Yoga, longer held postures that nourish connective tissues, increase circulation, and invite the body into profound stillness. This gentle practice softens physical tension and opens energetic pathways, preparing you to receive the full depth of sound healing.

As you settle into these postures and finally into Savasana, the harmonious tones of crystal sound bowls wash over you. Their powerful vibrations resonate with your energy centres, reducing stress, aligning chakras, and fostering deep renewal. Together, Yin and Sound create a potent synergy. The stillness of Yin allows the vibrations to penetrate more deeply while the sound frequencies amplify the healing effects of your practice.

Finding The Station Newcastle

and The Locker Room

The Station Newcastle is located right in the heart of the city, just steps from the water. You’ll find it on Scott Street, with Newcastle Beach only a short two-minute walk away. The venue sits between some well-known landmarks: Signal Box restaurant, Customs House Hotel, and Queens Wharf Tavern are all just around the corner, making it easy to spot and easy to access.The Locker Room is one of the indoor spaces at The Station. You can enter directly from the platform side of the venue, following the signs inside. It’s a bright, welcoming space where our classes and events are held.Parking is simple and stress-free. There is plenty of parking available around The Station and along nearby streets. Parking is free in the mornings and evenings, so if you are coming to practice yoga or join an evening sound bath, you’ll usually find a spot with ease. Being this close to the water, you can enjoy the sea breeze and the energy of Newcastle’s foreshore before or after class. It’s a beautiful part of the city to pause, reconnect, and soak up the coastal atmosphere.
